Summary:
Within the Technology Department, the Database Manager will manage a team of DBA’s and ETL database developers focused on Database Operations & Performance, Data Modeling, Data Migrations, ETL Development. Implement best practices, standards and procedures supporting software for the operations and safety compliance of airports. This person will work as a member of the agile team and interact with Infrastructure, QA and Development to ensure the delivery of the software to the product owner and customers. Will require some hands-on experience of 50 % management and 50% DBA work to on premise environments and into the Azure cloud as well as leading and growing the DBA team.
Responsibilities:
- 50% hands on modeling/ETL Data Migration and Server administration and 50% lead management of DBA Team with a move towards more management of the team over time.
- Lead and mentor DBA’s for all aspects of data layer including ETL, PDM, Database Tuning, Data Warehousing, BI and troubleshooting in Microsoft SQL Server environment.
- Provide DBA leadership to support multiple projects across multiple environments.
- Maintain consistency of database migrations for packaged software.
- Provide Database metrics and DBA performance metrics to Sr. Management.
- Manage and administer SQL Server, Tables, DDL, Stores Procedures, Triggers and Views.
- Define standards, create policies and procedures for database operations.
- Work with team members to improve processes in Agile SDLC.
- Able to establish schema comparison & promotion in an agile SDLC environment using Azure DevOps or similar tool.
- Must support development staff in schema generation & maintenance of tables, views, stored procedures.
- Must be able to plan/code SQL for reusable data migrations for product upgrades.
- Must be able to provide DB Tuning and Production level support.
- Participate in product architecture for new product design representing the Information layer.
- Manage and Develop ETL Packages using SSIS.
- Manage Architecture and Administration of Reporting Services using SSRS
Required Experience
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- 10+ years in Database Administration with focus on all aspects of database including SQL Server internals, Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, Data Modeling and Schema Generation, Data Migrations, Data Warehousing and BI Using Tableau or other BI Tool.
- 10+ years in SQL Server, log shipping, mirroring and replication, BCP in/out, database attach and detach, DTS, jobs, backup and recovery and query plans.
- 5+ years in ETL Development using SSIS, database migration using SQL Scripting, data warehousing experience and BI/Reporting and SSRS, and in a leadership role.
- Experience working in a distributed team environment of Developers, PM, BA and Infrastructure Engineers.
- Experience in Tableau or other BI Tool, Visual Studio, Data Modeling tools and reverse engineering databases into a PDM, writing SQL Queries and Azure Cloud IaaS
- Knowledge or experience in ORACLE, MYSQL, SQL Azure, other cloud databases with NOSQL, and development in .NET a Plus…Any Language.
