Overview
We are seeking an experienced Professional Electrical Engineer to manage and design electrical systems for a variety of projects, including data centers, industrial buildings, and high-profile construction projects. This role involves collaboration with MEI staff, clients, vendors, and other disciplines. Site visits and client meetings may require travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Calculation: Design electrical systems and perform design calculations.
- Project Oversight: Review, sign, and seal projects. Handle submittals, RFIs, change orders, and prepare record drawings.
- Site Management: Conduct site visits, inspections, and participate in commissioning work.
- Specification: Write and edit equipment specifications, select equipment, and design electrical systems.
- Project Management: Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 5-10+ years in electrical engineering design within the construction industry.
- Education & License: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a valid Electrical P.E. license.
- Design Expertise: Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, and large projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of building codes, NFPA Standards, and equipment power requirements. Experience with Protective Device Coordination, Arc Flash studies, and medium voltage equipment is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to manage priorities, mentor junior staff, and think strategically. Excellent organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
